From lowering the ramps of the landing ships at Normandy on June 6, 1944, to crawling through the snow on their bellies in extremely harsh weather at the Battle of the Bulge, our veterans showed great intrepidness and bravery as they faced the enemy to ensure the world was a safer place - free from the tyranny of leaders and nations. We may never see another generation of men and women like the ones who served during World War II. Authors Ken Beaton and Steve Ranson share a chapter of Nevada history as they discuss their book detailing the accounts of seventy-one World War II Veterans, including three women, POWs and survivors of Nazi concentration camps. Signed copies of the book will be available at the event (just in time for Christmas) with all proceeds going to Honor Flight Nevada. This lecture will be presented in person and on Zoom. Admission is $10 for adults, members and children age 17 and under are free.
